Complete Your Smile with Dental Bridges

Adult tooth loss does more harm than compromising your appearance. The loss of teeth adversely affects the mouth function, jaw structure, and the health of the remaining teeth. Of the many tooth replacement options available, dental bridges are worthy candidates to replace one or several missing teeth, allowing patients to regain oral functionality and confidence.

Have you lost one or more teeth and reside in Austin, Texas? Please book an appointment with Aqua Dental for natural-looking dental bridges.

What are Dental Bridges?

If you are missing teeth, a dental bridge covers the edentulous area (space without teeth) using artificial teeth (pontics) supported by healthy teeth (abutments) on either side of the gap. Unlike a partial denture that clasps on the neighboring teeth, a dental bridge relies on the support of crowns placed on the adjacent teeth. But even if you don’t have a tooth on which a crown can be mounted, a dental implant can be installed to anchor the bridge in place.

Furthermore, dental bridges aren’t just for the front and side teeth — they are strong enough to replace molars!

The Dental Bridge Procedure

To replace your missing or failing teeth with a dental bridge, you need to create time for a few dental appointments. The treatment starts with an initial consultation with Dr. Chitra Pradeep and the team to establish if a dental bridge suits you. When given the nod for treatment, we file down the adjacent teeth to create space for crown placement.

Next, we take your bite impressions and create models to guide the dental lab when fabricating your bridge and crowns. Before your appliances are ready, we will fit a temporary bridge to protect your prepped teeth. Take care when using these temporals because they aren’t that stable.

When your crowns and bridge are ready, we will call you to our office for bonding. We will make further adjustments to ensure your tooth restoration looks and fits naturally. Finally, we use dental cement to bond the bridge onto your teeth. You are now free to enjoy your new smile!

Dental bridges
A bridge is a non-surgical way to replace one or many teeth. A bridge uses the adjacent teeth as anchors to support the missing tooth or teeth. With today’s dental advancements, a bridge can be fabricated in a fairly short period of time, using a metal or nonmetal foundation. Don’t let that missing tooth affect the way you speak, eat, and smile. Bridges yield immediate results that last a lifetime. Ask your dentist what type of bridge may be right for you.
